February 16th, 2014 - Whitener Visits Bubba Raceway Park for WoO Action
Mark Whitener and the Big Frog Motorsports team traveled to Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida Friday night to open up the 2014 World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series season.

Mark posted the fourth quickest time overall during qualifying and went on to finish second in his heat race behind Brandon Sheppard, which locked him into a starting spot outside the front row for the $8,000-to-win feature. During the course of the 40 lap feature, Whitener ended the night with a disappointing 23rd place finish.

Saturday night kicked off round #2 of the Winter Nationals at Bubba Raceway Park and 27 competitors registered for the $10,000 to win event. Mark started sixth in preliminary heat race and finished fifth, earning him a 13th place starting spot for the feature event. Whitener retired from the 50 lapper with just two laps to go which resulted in 20th place finish.

Sunday evening boosted a $10,000 top prize for competitors in the Winter Nationals finale. Mark failed to make the transfer into the feature event from his heat race, but later a win in the b-main earned him a 17th place starting spot in the event. During the course of the 60 lap feature, Whitener roared past ten other competitors en route to a solid seventh place finish.

February 13th, 2014 - Whitener Competes in 38th Winternationals at East Bay

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event drew 44 entries, Mark started 3rd in his heat race and finished third. This locked him into the $5,000-to-win feature event where he would start 12th on the grid. During the course of the 25 lap feature, Whitener stayed within the top 15 for much of the race before a mechanical failure on lap 19 drew the caution flag as he limped his #58 machined into the pit area. He was credited with a 20th place finish.

It was a tough night for the Big Frog Motorsports team in Round #2 of the East Bay Raceway Park Winternationals. Forty-seven competitors signed in for the $5,000-to-win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event. Mark started eighth in heat race and finished seventh. Later that night during the B-Main, Whitener's night ended early when he just missed the transfer into the 25-lap feature by only a few positions.

Racing action from the 38th Annual Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park resumed on Thursday night after heavy rains forced Wednesday night's event to be postponed. Mark finished fifth in his preliminary heat race, missing the transfer to into the $7,000-to-win feature event. Whitener went on to win his last chance B-Main, earning him an 18th place starting spot for the main event. During the course of the 45 lap feature event Mark ran within the top 15 before his night came to an end on lap 34 with a 16th place finish.

February 9th, 2014 - Whitener Runner-Up at North Florida
A great night of racing for Big Frog Motorsports at North Florida Speedway in Baker, Florida. Mark qualified eighth among a modest 13 entries that were on hand and went on to win his heat race from the third spot over early leader Tim McCreadie.

Whitener took the initial lead at the start of the 40 lap feature event and pulled away to a comfortable lead during the first half of the race. As the laps began to wind down, Mark began to fight an ill handling race car allowing pole sitter Darrell Lanigan to close in and eventually make the pass for the lead off turn four with just 13 laps remaining. Lanigan would lead the remaining laps while Whitener settled for second followed by Brandon Cameron, Jay Morris, and Tim McCreadie rounding out the top five.

February 8th, 2014 - Big Frog Motorsports Returns to Action at Golden Isles
After several days off thanks to Mother Nature, Big Frog Motorsports returned to action on Friday at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia with the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series. After Thursday nights event was postponed due to rain, the stage was set for a double header on Friday.

The day began with the $2,500-to-win, make-up event from Thursday night. Mark posted the eighth fastest time over in qualifying among the 45 entries on hand and went on to win his B-Main, earning him an eighth place starting spot for the 30 lap feature event. Whitener maintained his position inside the top ten during the course of the feature before crossing the finish line in sixth.

The evening show also boosted a $2,500 payday for competitors, and after qualifying 20th overall Mark locked his spot into the 30 lap feature by finishing third in his respective B-Main. Whitener advanced four positions from his 14th starting spot to bring home a solid tenth place performance.

For the final day of racing at Golden Isles Speedway, 36 competitiors were signed in. Mark posted the eighth quickest lap overall in time trials which locked him into the feature event. Whitener was involved in a multi-car tangle in turn two on lap five restart, and flipped his race car in the melee. After the car landed on its wheels he was able to re-fire and line up for the restart. Despite his misfortune early on, Mark was able to recover a fourth place finish.
