April 25th, 2015 - Podium Finish for Whitener at Bubba Raceway Park
Mark Whitener entered a doubleheader with the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series (UDLMCS) over the weekend.

Friday night found the team pitted a Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) for a $3,000-to-win event that drew a field of twenty-one Super Late Models. Mark posted the overall fastest lap in time trials and went on to win his heat race, earning him a spot in the evenings redraw. He later drew the pole position for the main event with Tyler Clem alongside. Whitener assumed the point and showed the way for the first half of the race before lapped traffic allowed Kyle Bronson to get by. Bronson would go on to claim the win with John Kellum finishing second followed by Whitener in third. Ivedent Lloyd Jr. and Shan Smith rounded out the top five finishers.

Action shifted to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on Saturday night for another $3,000-to-win race. Thirty-two entries were on hand for the event, and a second place finish in his heat race earn Mark the fifth starting spot on the feature grid. Unfortunately, rain began prior to the start of the main event, forcing officials to postpone the balance of the program.

The annual Scott Thompson Memorial boosted a $3,800 top prize, and drew a field of thirty Super Late Models to the "Clay by the Bay." Mark drew the third starting spot for his heat race and was running second when he suffered a terminal failure in his primary entry.

Whitener borrowed David Schmauss's machine to continue his outing and charged to a second place finish in the b-main, locking him into the 22nd starting spot for the 50-lap main event. Unfortunately, Whitener was involved in a melee on the third circuit that ended his night early.
