November 30th, 2013 - Whitener Enjoys Stellar Outing at North Florida
1Saturday night was a great outing for Big Frog Motorsports as Mark Whitener clinched the 2013 United Dirt Late Model Championship Series (UDLMCS) Championship with a bang by scoring the $3,000 victory in the series' season finale at North Florida Speedway (Lake City, Florida) in his #58 Big Frog Motorsports/Dave's Towing/B&B Produce Late Model!

Via a 2nd place finish in heat race action Whitener moved onto the redraw for the 40 lap, Harvey Jones Memorial feature, where he was the recipient of the 5th starting spot. A series of cautions plauged the initial attempts to get the race underway. However, when the green flag finally waved for good Whitener bolted from his 5th starting spot to the lead on the first lap.

Once out front Mark never looked back on his way to his 12th victory of the 2013 campaign, which was worth $3,000. In addition he claimed his third UDLMCS Championship in the last four seasons and his sixth overall title in four seasons.

"It was just an incredible night for our team," commented Whitener. "To be able to claim the championship and the win in the same night is just awesome. I can't thank Big Frog Motorsports and all of our great sponsors and fans enough for their great support!"

November 23rd, 2013 - Heart Break at BRP for Big Frog Motorsports
1Mark Whitener and Big Frog Motorsports entered the 9th Annual Chevrolet Performance World Championship over the weekend at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) with the NeSmith National Late Model Series.

The $10,000-to-win event attracted a field of 49 entries to the clay oval, and the weekend began with struggles on Friday night as mechanical issues allowed Whitener to only register the 10th fastest time in his group, which left him starting 10th in his heat race.

In the heat Mark mounted a solid charge to a 5th place finish, but with only the top four finishers transferring to the feature he was relegated to a b-main on Saturday afternoon. He went on to storm to the win in the b-main to lock into the 17th starting spot for the 100 lap finale.

As the main event green Whitener began his march forward in the field quickly finding his way into the top ten, and by lap 20 he was into the top five. Five circuits later Mark took advantage of a restart to make a three-wide pass for the lead as he took over the top spot from Ivedent Lloyd Jr.

Over the next several laps Whitener began to power his #58 Dave's Towing/B&B Produce/Barry Wright Late Model away from the field. However on lap 40 disaster struck as the power plant failed in his entry forcing the team out of the event to a disappointing 19th place finish.
